Interrupting the week of WIP men for a special announcement

With apologies for interrupting the hotness that is the “Week of Diva WIP Men”, but I have a special announcement:

In a surprise move by Samhain Publishing, Red Red Wine is now on sale for a limited time!

The book has been discounted from $4.50 to just 99c!

You can get your copy at:

Samhain Publishing,

Barnes & Noble

iBooks

Kobo has it on sale too, for $1.15. (I’m guessing that’s because it’s priced in Canadian dollars?)

Not sure if you wanna read it?

Here’s what reviewers are saying:

“This book is one of those feel good romances and one I could easily see made into a Lifetime movie, well except Lifetime would make it boring because they’d cut out all the really hot scenes.” Slick Reads, Guilty Pleasures Reviews.

” Red Red Wine is a truly hot erotic romance. This is my first read from Ms. Dee and it certainly will not be the last. This story opens with a bang and just continues to entertain until the very last paragraph. Authors that can successfully blend an interesting story with eroticism is a rare talent, and Ms. Dee presents this winning combination beautifully.” Sara, Harlequin Junkie.

Red Red Wine: The Blurb

She’s tantalizing…tempting…and taken.

Tastes of Seduction, Book 2

When Andrew Stafford’s business partner banishes him from work with strict instructions to take a much-needed holiday, the offer of five days relaxing in wine country is too enticing to refuse. As is the woman he encounters the minute he arrives at the hotel.

She’s everything Andrew’s ever wanted in a partner, and meeting her should be the answer to all of his prayers. Except for one thing—she’s strictly off limits.

Tori Worthing has never been happier. She’s about to marry an amazing man, and her life is laid out perfectly before her—until her dream winery wedding becomes an unexpected nightmare. Her heart shattered, she turns to the one place she never expected to find comfort—a stranger’s arms.

Tori and Andrew both know theirs is a rebound affair destined to end when the week is over. But when the time comes, letting her go proves to be the hardest step Andrew’s ever had to take.

Warning: Jilted brides are not supposed to have this much fun. Especially when the fun involves a bottle of red, a sexy man and getting naked in the gazebo at midnight.

At 99c, who can resist?

🙂

The week of WIP Men – Table For Two

Meet the inspiration for my newest hero, James Elliot.

James is a builder, a rugby player, he pushes weights at least five times a week, and after accidentally seeing his good friend, Olivia Taylor naked, he finds himself helplessly in lust with her.

James’s story, Table For Two, book two in The Sunday Night Dinner Club series, is the sequel to Party of Three (from the Down & Dirty boxed set) and releases in November.

Yummy!

james2

Yummy no 2. (It’s not cheating if I’m inspired by two men, right? I’m just…doubly incentivised.)

Soon as I have more details about the book and actual release dates, I’ll let you know.

The Week of WIP Men – Eternal Brand

I’m currently in deadline hell, trying to get my latest WIP finished by Sunday. I’m feeling very ‘the little train that could’ right now I think I can, I think I can…

This book has been both a labour of love and a… well, just a labour, really. It’s only the second MMF I’ve ever written, and you may be aware of how long and angsty the first one is. This one was supposed to be simpler, but simple books and me aren’t very well acquainted. This time I have an ex-commando  hero with some serious psychological scarring and a long lost love who’s about to turn up and blow his sanctuary all to hell. His name is Brandon Walker, and his long lost love is Jet Durante. Together they’re explosive (and more than enough to satisfy Brand’s new love, Emily Irving).

In my mind, this is how I see Brand

Brand 2 Yes, Channing Tatum in army fatigues and a lot of sweat. Hmm.

And this is how I see Jet–Ian Sommerhalder wearing not very much.

Ian-Jet RaunchyThese guys make putting up with the torture of writing worthwhile 🙂

Meet The Men of The Outback Skies – A Week of WIP Men

This week, the Divas are sharing with you the heroes of their works in progress (aka WIP). Introducing them to you all, as it were.

Whetting your appetites…

Teasing you…

Taunting you…

Let’s beging with the men of the Outback Skies series, shall we?

January next year sees the beginning of my new series, Outback Skies. As you can probably guess, the series is set in the Outback, in the town of Wallaby Ridge. In that town, there’s a pub called Outback Skies, and it is in that pub that four friends catch-up every Friday afternoon…four men whose job all entail flying high in the skies that stretch across the Australian Outback.

Would you like me to introduce you to them?

Matt Corvin (Breathless for You, Book One)

Tom-Mison-tom-mison-35744973-200-200

Matt is a GP. Or more to the point, a Royal Flying Doctor Service doctor. He is also the world’s sweetest man. Which means when he lets loose his dominating sexual side, Tash, his prickly pilot, is more than a little surprised…

Evan Alexander (Burn for You, Book Two)

000•0911_SEBASTIANSTAN.pdf

Aviation firefighter, Evan is one of the most tortured heroes I’ve ever written. A broken man needing to be healed. But he’s determined not to let anyone into his heart, and that includes the woman he used to fantasize about almost half a decade ago. Of course, she’s not going to walk away from Evan. Who could?

Ryan Taylor (Bare for You, Book Three)

actors hugh jackman 1920x1080 wallpaper_wallpaperswa.com_22

Ryan is almost your typical Outback cowboy. I say almost typical, because he rounds up cattle via helicopter, not on the back on a horse. He’s also Wallaby Ridge’s only opening gay citizen. Which makes getting a date in a town of 700 not that easy. And then Federal Member for the Arts and Culture, Jeremy Craig arrives in town to open an indigenous art gallery…a man who, on the outside is very very hetrosexual. A man predicted to become the next Australian Deptuy Prime Minister…

Charlie Baynard (Better with You, Book Four)

407_1charlie_hunnam_3

There’s not much I can tell you about Wallby Ridge’s Senior Constable, Charlie. Take my word on it when I say three words sum Charlie up: enigmatic, menacing, and sarcastic. Oh, four words…but that fourth word involves a woman on Interpol’s Most Wanted list. A woman coming to get Charlie…

So there you have the four heroes of Outback Skies. Based purely on their intro, which one would you most like to share a beer with in the pub? 🙂

Teaser Tuesday

What? It’s not Tuesday?

Oh well. Here’s a teaser anyway 🙂

I’ve been working on a little something that I’m really thrilled about. It’s called Giving Off Sparks and it’s the follow up to Burning Up, which is my story in the Down and Dirty boxed set. I just typed the end on it at around 5:30pm Sunday so it’s as yet unedited. But I thought to celebrate the The End part I’d share the first few pages of what I’ve done with you. I’m really really in love with Rob 🙂

Giving Off Sparks (Book 2 of the Ashton Heights Fire Series)Down&DirtyFlat

Chapter One

Two things woke Rob McConnell at 3:46 in the morning. The sound of a woman screaming and the acrid smell of smoke.

He shot out of bed, his firefighter’s instincts on full alert. Yesterday, he’d spent the better part of a ten hour shift working with his crew and several others to dampen a factory fire before it spread to the surrounding industrial area. They managed to douse the flames without any loss of life, but they weren’t always so lucky. Screaming and smoke tended to make Rob spring right into action.

He was yanking on a pair of jeans in two seconds, bolting out of his bedroom in three. He stopped in the darkened hall, listening for the roar of flames. It took him a moment to realize there was no roar, and that the woman’s screams weren’t the ‘come and save me I’m burning to death’ kind. They were more of the ‘Oh, God, baby, yes! I’m coming… I’m coming… oooohhh!’ variety.

Rob groaned and rubbed at his eyes with the heel of his hands. His housemates were at it again. Blair Bowman and Leo Chatfield—otherwise known at the fire station as Blue and Chats—were working their way through all the women in Ashton Heights, and a few surrounding suburbs, who were willing to take both of them on at the same time. Unfortunately, there were a lot to choose from.

Ordinarily Rob wouldn’t care what his two workmates did in the bedroom. He wasn’t a complete stranger to the delights of three-way action himself. But the walls in the old Queenslander the three of them shared were paper thin. The noise was effecting his sleep.

Pushing out a sigh, Rob walked into the kitchen to grab the milk from the fridge. Just as he was about to lift the carton to his lips he detected that scent of smoke again. The screams might have been nothing to worry about but that persistent smell was a concern. He followed it to the open kitchen window, which faced the kitchen window of the neighboring house. Through the glass he saw a telltale orange glow emanating from inside.

“Shit!”

Rob dropped the milk carton, spilling the contents all over the linoleum floor. Ignoring the mess, he yanked the fire extinguisher off its wall bracket and bolted toward the sliding glass door that lead to the back patio. He ran down the stairs three at a time, vaulted over the fence between the two properties and leapt up the back stairs of number nineteen. He banged on the glass of the house’s back door, trying to rouse the single mother and three kids who lived inside.

Through the glass Rob could see the fire had already consumed the toaster on the bench. As he watched and banged furiously on the door, the flames leapt from the toaster to a nearby tea towel and set it alight.

Where the hell were their smoke alarms? Fuck it, he thought. He couldn’t wait for Cheryl to wake up. He lifted the fire extinguisher and rammed the base of it into the door. A crack appeared in the glass immediately. With only one more blow the whole sheet exploded. Glass fell everywhere, leaving shards on the inside and outside of the house.

A woman screamed, the sound ear-splitting. Rob didn’t even look at her as he leapt over the broken glass and headed for the kitchen. He lifted the fire extinguisher and released the safety switch. Rob gave it a few good long bursts, spraying at the flames until he buried the small blaze in white foam.

When the noise of the extinguisher died down, silence fell. Outside, a dog barked. A few screen doors creaked as they opened. The commotion had obviously gotten the attention of the neighbors. Rob’s heart rate began to calm as the adrenaline eased out of his system.

It sped up again at the sound of one shrill question. “Why in the world did you do that?”

Rob’s head whipped around so he got his first real look at the woman who’d screamed earlier. A woman who was definitely not Cheryl, the forty something mother of three who lived at number nineteen. This woman was not forty, probably wouldn’t be for at least fifteen years. And if her hips had born any children they sure didn’t show a sign of it. She was trim and slender, with long hair that fell in straight dark strands all the way to her tiny waist. Which wasn’t far because she was short.

She was short, cute, and really ticked off. Which ticked Rob off. Fortunately, his annoyance distracted him from the feeling of being sucker punched he experienced the first instant he laid eyes on the woman behind him.

like it?

A Sad Day

Robin Williams has been on my screens, either TV or movie, for almost my whole life. When I was 5 years old Mork and Mindy was my favourite show. My mother used to call me in from outside so I could see it, because I would be devastated if I missed the beginning. I was going to grow up and move to Boulder Colorado so I could live with Mork, right or wrong.

Then with Robin moved on to movies he showed how versatile he was. The sensitivity he brought to his more serious roles was sublime. One of my favourite movie scenes of all time is the ‘It’s not your fault’ scene in Good Will Hunting. I cannot watch it without tearing up.

But then there are so many great moments. The Oh Captain my Captain scene from Dead Poet’s Society, the hilarious restaurant scene in Mrs. Doubtfire, his chilling performances in One Hour Photo and Insomnia, the DJing sequences in Good Morning Vietnam that I believe no body else in the world could have pulled off. the countless voice overs he provided for animated movies… the list could go on. Let’s just say it’s difficult for me to imagine a world where there will never be a new Robin Williams film, and I’m very very sad today.

RED RED WINE: An Excerpt

“I think you’re amazing,” she whispered into Andrew’s neck. He smelled amazing too. Musky and masculine. She’d always loved Declan’s expensive aftershave—until right now. Suddenly she preferred the earthy, natural scent of a man.

“Me?” He snorted in disbelief. “You think I’m amazing?”

“I do. What you’re doing takes an incredible amount of courage.”

“If you want to discuss courage, let’s talk about you.”

“Me?” Yeah, let’s not.

“I think your being here, with me tonight, is incredibly courageous. Seeking happiness when you could be wallowing in self-pity.”

“Oh, I’m wallowing. Believe me.” Using Andrew for rebound sex wasn’t courageous. It was selfish.

She shifted in his lap, uncomfortable with how quickly he’d directed the conversation back to her and stunned by how much she’d wanted him.

Andrew groaned softly, and she lifted her head in time to see him grit his teeth.

“Are you okay?”

“I’m…fine.” His voice was hoarse.

She shifted again, seating herself more comfortably, and he emitted another groan, this one more anguished than the first.

“You don’t look fine.”

He closed his eyes and breathed deep. “Just…keep still, and all will be good. I promise.”

At which point Tori became aware of the hardened bulge pressing against her butt.

Ah-ha.

Mentally she shook her head, belatedly berating herself. She’d been so wrapped up in her own pain, her own need and her own pleasure, she’d failed to think about Andrew’s.

His interest in her had been obvious from the start—and it had served to increase her own level of arousal. Made her want him with a hunger that had cut through her heartache and her pain, blinding her to everything but him. But still, she’d taken, then taken again, and in her dazed state of satiation afterwards, had not thought to give. She’d simply snuggled into the hard, comforting warmth of his body and let him numb her pain.

He’d done too good a job. Not only had he numbed her to her pain, he’d numbed her to his pain too.

“You mean keep still as in don’t do this?” Deliberately she rolled her hip, so the side of her body undulated against him.

He grunted and took a good few seconds to respond. “Th-that’s exactly what I mean.”

“Oh. Okay.” This time when she shifted it was to turn in his arms and face him, wrapping her legs around his waist in the process. She would have locked her feet together behind his back, but the beam stood in her way, so she was forced to bend her knees and rest her feet on the ground. She leaned forward then and undulated her hips again, this time rolling her groin along the length of his erection. “So I can do this, and it won’t be a problem?”

It might not be a problem for him, but it sure was for her. Her action had just set her body on fire all over again.

For the second time, it took a while for Andrew to answer. “You can do that. As much as you like.” He sucked in a shallow breath. “But I reckon if you do, you’ll find yourself naked and flat on your back before you’ve taken your next breath.”

“That wouldn’t be so terrible.” No, that would be fucking amazing. Her breasts tightened and white heat raced through her body at the idea. She grinned and once again rolled her pussy over his hard cock.

Andrew surged forward, grabbing her by her waist. Her heart lurched, and she braced for impact, knowing he was about to flip her on her back.

But in an unexpected reversal of intent, Andrew dropped his hands and slumped back against the beam. He let out a frustrated moan, closed his eyes and banged his head against the beam, once, twice, three times.

She stared at him, stunned. “Y-you’re choosing a brain injury over a sure thing?” Because she was a sure thing. No question about it. All he needed to do was get her naked, and she was all his.

Well, for tonight anyway.

He banged his head again, then glared at her through one eye. “No… Fucking… Condom.”

And just like that, Tori experienced the same urge to bang her head against a wall.
