Not to be Outdone…

I see you Jess with all your sexy new covers. They are very gorgeous I must say. But I can’t let the New Cover Queen title go unchallenged. I too have some new covers that I want to show you, for books 1 and 2 in my new series entitled Ashton Heights Fire. The series is a spin off of my novel Erica’s Choice, and will involve lots of yummy two on one and one on one lovin’ starring super hot Aussie firefighters. What more could you want?

Book 1 is Burning Up

Burning Up

Burning Up is the story that was included in the Down and Dirty Boxed Set, and it’s now available as a single release.

One woman, two sexy firefighters and a whole lot of mischief.

Pam Spencer is sick of looking for love in all the wrong places. Sure, she wants a solid relationship, but if steamy casual sex is on offer, who is she to turn it down? Especially when the offer comes from not one, but two smokin’ hot firefighters.

Steve Waller has a serious thing for Pam, but she seems more interested in his mate Rob McConnell. When they both realize Pam is open to a threesome, they jump at the chance. Too bad Steve really wants Pam all to himself. But love can’t blossom out of a crazy one night three way. Can It?

Burning Up is available now at Amazon       Barnes & Noble     Smashwords    iBooks

And you want to know what book cover 2 is don’t you? The follow up to Burning Up is called Giving Off Sparks.

Giving off SparksResisting a gorgeous firefighter bent on seduction could prove the ultimate challenge.

Firefighter Rob McConnell doesn’t believe in love at first sight, until he meets Sierra Lawson and his common sense goes up in flames. The woman sets his heart alight the instant he meets her, and he could swear the feeling is mutual. But Sierra has one rule that makes a relationship between them unworkable—she doesn’t date firefighters. Still, Rob thinks the spark between them deserves an opportunity to grow and he’ll use every seductive talent he has to convince Sierra to take a chance on love.

Sierra doesn’t believe in taking chances. Her late fiancé took them on the job as a cop and wound up dead. Knowing she can’t go through that kind of heartache again, Sierra vows never to date another man in a dangerous profession. But when hunky firefighter Rob bursts into her life, her list of rules looks set to burn up like dry kindling. The man is temptation personified. An affair seems inevitable.

Guarding her heart? Impossible.

Giving Off Sparks will release on October 30, but you can preorder it now from Amazon      Smashwords     iBooks

Woohoo! I’m so excited about releasing this series. The books have been such fun to write and I hope you have fun reading them too.

Ready for a Rendezvous?

I’m so excited to announce another release! You might call it a flash release because I’m taking you by surprise with it :). I wrote this little short story a while back and have been sitting on it, because I needed to get up to speed on the whole self publishing thing before I released it. Eventually I decided I just had to jump in and do it, so here I am, announcing my first ever solo self publishing venture! (can you hear my knees knocking from where you are?)

I always wanted to release this story on my own because I liked it so much the way it was–short, hot, kind of sweet and sad in parts, and overall uplifting. It’s a story about an estranged husband and wife who have one last shot at making their marriage work. In Romanceland, we so often focus on firsts–first meetings, first loves, first kisses and the first (insert your choice of verb here *wink*). That’s good stuff, fun stuff. But we rarely get to see what happens after the initial blush of love starts to wear off and a couple is left to deal with real life stuff. When my heroine Cassie and her husband Reed had to deal with their real life issues, they didn’t do it very well. In Rendezvous, we see them trying to rectify that… while sailing around the idyllic Whitsunday Islands of course. Because I’m the author and I could set the book anywhere I wanted :).

So are you ready for a book not about firsts this time, but about second chances?

Six days at sea with her ex… Conditions are about to get rough

Twelve months ago Cassie Dalton fled Sydney and her three year marriage to tough city cop, Reed. Now she’s living a new life chartering tourists around the pristine tropical waters of the Whitsunday Passage on her inherited yacht, The Rendezvous. Despite having unresolved feelings for her estranged husband, she sends divorce papers in her desperation to move on. To her surprise the move shakes Reed out of his emotional hibernation and brings him to north Queensland, determined to win her back. As they spend the next six days sailing and sharing secrets, Cassie begins to wonder why she ever thought living without the man she loves was a solid life plan.

But just as she thinks all their fences have mended, Reed breaks her heart all over again…

Release date 1 August 14, when it will be available everywhere including Amazon. Preorder at Smashwords or iBooks AU, with more preorder links to come. You can read an excerpt here.

What do you think?

Burning Up in Australia

Down and Dirty Special with quoteWhen we Divas first decided to do a boxed set of short MFM erotic romance stories, I was thrilled. I’d had a story idea in the back of my mind for a little while, but wasn’t sure whether to write it or not, nor did I know when I was going to get around to it. The boxed set gave me the impetus to get cracking, and as is usually the case when I write something short, I had a blast doing it! (I really need to write short more often, as it’s a nice little stress relief between these long and emotionally taxing tomes I tend to pen. If only most of my characters weren’t so full of angst I might be able to do it :).)

In Burning Up, there’s relatively little angst, especially when you compare it to the story it follows up. You see, Burning Up is a spin off of Erica’s Choice, which was kind of a big SERIOUS book eh? It’s not a sequel so can be read completely independently, but it stars some of the characters from Erica’s Choice. Pam spencer, Erica’s best friend and two more firefighters from Ashton Heights Firehouse, Steve Waller and Rob McConnell, are the trio in question. They lingered in my mind after I wrote Erica’s book, and let me tell you, Pam, Steve and Rob showed me an AWESOME time :).

Blurb:

Pam Spencer is sick of looking for love in all the wrong places. Sure, she wants a solid relationship, but if steamy casual sex is on offer, who is she to turn it down? Especially when the offer comes from not one, but two smokin’ hot firefighters.

Steve Waller has a serious thing for Pam, but she seems more interested in his mate Rob McConnell. When they both realise Pam is open to a threesome, they jump at the chance. Too bad Steve really wants Pam all to himself. But love can’t blossom out of a crazy one night three way. Can It?

And here’s just a teeny snippet from the first 3 way kiss the characters share:

Pam wriggled a little, an indication that she’d like some space. But Steve merely tightened his grip on her waist. To add to her torment, he even pressed his lips to her ear, brushing a hot breath over it that made her shiver. “You feel okay there, Pammy?”

Her response came out as little more than a rasp. “I don’t understand.”

She feared that was a lie. She feared she did understand all too well what Steve and Rob had planned for her.

Confirming her suspicions, Steve whispered. “Then we’ll show you. Do it, Rob.”

In an instant, Rob’s large hand was bracketing her jaw. The next thing Pam knew, his lips were on hers.

Softness. So much softness. She should have expected it from Rob, the nice guy, but she hadn’t. She’d imagined him passionate and out of control. But this kiss…it was lovely. He brushed his lips against hers, requesting her compliance before working her mouth open. Too shocked by the turn of events, Pam didn’t resist as Rob slid his tongue into her mouth. Her heart pounded as he deepened the kiss, sliding his tongue over hers, stroking her waist…

No. That was Steve stroking her waist, Steve’s hand moving upward, and upward, until his fingers encountered the underside of her breast through the thin cardigan and silky camisole. Her nipple beaded, anticipating his touch. She wanted him to touch her there, to stroke her flesh to a hard point while Rob kissed her into a state of dreamy desire. She wanted it so badly, she arched her spine, writhing now not in protest, but in invitation.

Want more? You’re in luck, because Down and Dirty releases in 5 days! Friday 27th of June you can buy the full set on Amazon, and in the meantime you can add it to your Smashwords library or preorder it from ARe, Kobo and iBooks (and if you download the sample you get to read the first 2 chapters of Burning Up before the set releases).

Can’t wait for release day!

Rhythm Of My Heart: A sneak peek

Just two weeks ago I typed those two little words every author strives to type:
The End.

The book I’d been working on was finished, the manuscript complete. The third book in the Speed series was finally done. Zachary Pace/Jonah Speed had his story.

I’d love to tell you I felt fantastic. Love to tell you I was on a high from the accomplishment. After all, I’d been waiting a year to write this book. A year to find the story and put it in words. But the truth is, when I typed those two words I felt a horrible sense of loss. I was saying goodbye to the characters I’d spent so much time getting to know and understand.

I’ve been living with these two characters for fourteen months. Listening as they whispered in my head, giving hints of their lives to me. I’ve also lived in utter frustration, desperate for them to give me more than a sentence or two every now and again. So when suddenly they started talking and refused to shut up, I sat up and took notice. And six weeks later, their story was told. But in the process of them telling their story, I grew rather fond of Zachary and Eve. So much so that I’m still thinking about them all the time. I’m not ready to let them go just yet.

And so even though their book only releases in October, I would love to share a snippet of their story with you. So here you go. This is the first kiss in the third book of the Speed series:

ComingSoon72sm

RHYTHM OF MY HEART (An unedited sneak preview snippet)

Her eyes closed and she let out a soft moan of pleasure.

“Good?”

Eve’s “Mmmmm” reverberated down his spine and echoed in his groin.

How the fuck could eating a chocolate turn into the most erotic encounter on earth? Eve made it look like she was lost in the throes of spectacular sex. The woman had a chocolate in her mouth, that was all. Yet the bliss on her face and satisfaction in her soft moan had Zachary hardening to a point of pain.

Christ, he hoped no one noticed.

She chewed, her red lips a beacon to his gaze.

He wanted to kiss her, wanted to mold his mouth to hers and taste the pleasure on her breath.

Yeah. Not going to happen. Not here, in a room packed full of curious eyes and cameras.

“If you carry on chewing like that,” Zachary’s voice was a low growl, “like you’re about to have an orgasm, I am going to throw you under the table and eat every last bit of you.”

Eve’s eyes popped open, and she swallowed quickly. “You know it would be way simpler if you just ate the truffle?”

“Maybe. But it wouldn’t taste half as good.”

“You know what you are, Jonah Speed?”

Aroused? Frustrated? Horny? “What am I, Eve Andrews?”

“A first rate, grade A flirt.” She lifted a second truffle to her mouth and licked it. Those cherry-red lips of hers framed the milk chocolate, and her tongue was just visible, dabbing at the treat.

The room full of curious eyes and cameras faded to insignificance. Sound faded too. The chocolate and Eve’s lips were his sole focus. His sole desire.

With one hand, he plucked the saucer from her hand and set it on the table. With the other he plucked her hand from her mouth and tossed the half-eaten chocolate over his shoulder.

Before she had a chance to object—and by the look in her eyes she intended to object, vehemently—he yanked her against him, bent his head and kissed her.

Just claimed her mouth with his, taking advantage of her surprised gasp to slip his tongue between those cherry-red lips and sample the chocolate she’d just licked.

Jesus, fuck. She was right. The chocolate wasn’t just good. It was delectable. Mouth-watering. It blew his mind. And he hated chocolate.

Eve sagged in his arms, as though she’d turned boneless. He hauled her closer, molding her to his body, squashing the rose between them. Her soft curves pressed tight against his firmer bulk. She clutched at him with one hand, grabbing his arm, squeezing it, then slowly letting her hand skim up over his shoulder until she buried it in his hair.

Her tongue drifted over his, toyed with it. Tasted him like he tasted her. And damned if it wasn’t the sweetest, hottest kiss Zachary had ever shared.

He kissed her harder, lost himself to the creamy, rich flavor of Eve and chocolate.

The chocolate had nothing on the woman. Couldn’t compete with her.

Lights flared against his eyes. Once, twice, a million times. Fireworks? From a kiss? That was a first. Not surprising though, not with the way his body reacted to the kiss, but a first.

Fu-uck.

Sanity returned like a sharp slap.

Those bursts of light weren’t fireworks at all. Not even close. They were flashes. Camera flashes. Tons of them.

Zachary broke the kiss with a silent, foul curse and stepped back, holding Eve’s arms to steady her.

Jesus, how stupid could he have been?

She blinked once, then again, scrunching her eyes against the flares of light, looking bewildered at first and then just a little terrified.

“Hell! I’m sorry.” He whispered the apology as he scanned the room. Luke would sort this out, instantly, leaving Zachary free to slip away with Eve. “I wasn’t thinking.”

No, he definitely wasn’t. All rational thought had fled his mind as she’d devoured those chocolates.

Shit. Shit, shit, shit.

The band manager was nowhere to be seen, which meant it was up to Zachary to initiate damage control. Problem was, hundreds of people had caught him and Evie, lip-locked, on camera. There was very little he could do about it.

Even now flashes continued, and mobile phones were more visible than faces. Every Tom, Dick and photographer had caught Zachary’s impulsive behavior on film.

It was just a matter of time before those photos appeared on the net, in newspapers, on TV, and in every gossip rag around the world.

Rhythm Of My Heart releases from Samhain on the 8th of October.

I truly hope you love this story as much as I do.

Can I Borrow Lexxie’s Muppet Flail?

I have no idea how to embed a video on here, but I am flailing. I am I am.

I’m stoked to announce that I have signed another book contract. I’m now an author who has ‘publishers’ plural, which is something I couldn’t even imagine a year or two ago. Yes, I have had a book accepted by Ellora’s Cave Publishing. Heels clicking (click click).

I will tell you more about this book as the weeks pass, but for now I can say the book is a hot MF story set in Australia and it is called JUST ONE TASTE. It’s your run of the mill, average Aussie male meets rich American heiress who mistakes him for a male prostitute. Yes, yes, a run of the mill storyline that one :).

Once I have a blurb and/or a cover, I’m certainly going to be posting those right here. All indications are that JUST ONE TASTE will be out by the end of the year. After three years of ‘release drought’ to say I’m excited to be having three books release in the second half of 2012 is an understatement.

Go me!
