I hope so, because I’ve made reservation. We are having…

DINNER AT EIGHT.

Yeah, okay, so I’m being silly. But I can’t help it. I’m so excited to let you know that the third book in the Sunday Night Dinner Club series has now released.

🙂

And…it’s on sale for the next two weeks.

Dinner-At-Eight453x680

Dinner at Eight:

Sunday Night Dinner Club, Book 3

It’s been eighteen months since Ava Torres last saw her best friend, Jared Thurston. In that time she’s been married, separated and gone all the way to hell and back as a wife. She keeps her emotional scars buried deep beneath the surface, loath to let the world know they exist.

Jared had no choice but to leave Sydney. The alternative meant staying and watching the woman he secretly loved marry another man. Now it’s time to go home and pick up the pieces of his broken heart.

Ava is both thrilled and thrown by Jared’s unexpected return. While seeing him brings true happiness for the first time in months, it also presents a new batch of problems. Jared won’t let Ava hide from her pain any longer, nor will he let her hide from him. He’s determined to show her that true love doesn’t just exist in fairy tales. If Ava is willing to fight for it, together they can find their very own happy ever after.

Warning: Please don’t go thinking this is your regular fairy tale. No one under the age of 18 should be reading the tale of this ridiculously sexy Prince Charming.

(This book is the third in the Sunday Night Dinner Club series. Although each book stands alone, they can be better enjoyed read in order. )

Finding the right spot – Sex locations, Day 3

The Divas have been having a lot of fun of late, discussing all the places our characters have done the dirty. Sami made a list first, which you can see right here. Then it was Lexxie’s turn. (Click here for her list.)

The thing is with erotic romance writing, our characters do the dirty A LOT! And let’s face it, if they confined themselves to their bedrooms, things could start to get a wee bit boring, no? So it’s up to us, the authors, to throw our characters into places or situations that’ll spice up the scenes.

Truth is, very few of my love scenes take place in the bedroom. All too often, they’re so keen to get it on, that soft, comfortable bed is just too damn far away. So, where have they done it? Well let’s see:

1) In the lounge room. (That seems to be a favorite of mine. There’s even a scene on a couch which takes place as the NYE midnight firework show begins. And oh, yeah, there are a lot of fireworks!)

2) In the dining room. (On the table and a chair. Different books though.)

3) In the bathroom. (Not in the shower or bath, as you’d expect…)

4) A gazebo in the middle of a rose garden. (Several times. Turns out the gazebo was a special place for this hero and heroine.)

5) The dressing room of a sports stadium. (With sixty thousands people packed into said stadium.)

6) An outdoor spa/jacuzzi.

7) A doctor’s waiting room.

8) On the deck of a boat.

9) On the ladder of a boat.

10) In an office. (With someone watching through the window. And without someone watching through the window. And in his office chair. And her office couch.)

11) In the garden during a party.

12) In his parents’ garden, behind the massive eucalyptus tree. (Don’t worry. It was night. The parents never saw a thing.)

13) On the balcony of a hotel room. (Man, I adore love scenes set in hotel rooms! I have heaps of them.)

14) Tied to a chair. (Well, she was. He’d gotten free by then.)

15) On a bar. (With three hot men! How’s that for one lucky lady?)

16) On a poker table. (Never fear, the cards and chips had been packed away.)

17) On a kitchen table. (Sturdy table that one.)

18) On the trunk of a car on the side of a road in broad daylight. (Phew, lucky the road was deserted.)

19) On a cliff overlooking the ocean. (Spectacular views, I might add.)

20) In her dreams. (And his)

Now, for the fun bit…A CONTEST!

You’ve read my list. Now check out Lexxie and Sami’s lists. (Rhian’s is coming soon!)

Each day any commenter who can match up at least one of that author’s books with its corresponding sex location will go in the draw to win a set of four backlist books–winner’s choice, one from each of us. So, for eg, you might say that the love scenes in the gazebo are from Red Red Wine – and you’d be right. (I gave that one away because I’m super cool that way 😀 ). Do you get the picture? Match up as many or as few as you can.

Have fun. (Oh, and don’t be shy to add a couple of places you might have tried. Who knows? They may just land up in a Diva book one day.) 😉

Good luck,

Jess

Now available: A new friends-to-lovers romance

(As posted over at International Heat, but with a little bit of a difference)

Are you a fan of friends-to-lovers romance?

I am. I’m such a massive fan, I seem to return to the theme in my books over and over again. In fact, I love it so much, I decided not just to write a book on this trope – but an entire series.

The Sunday Night Dinner Club is based around a group of friend who meet every few weeks for dinner. It’s their way of ensuring they see one another regularly in the chaotic everyday lives they lead.

Party-Of-Three-453x680

Party Of Three, the first book in the series, focuses on two best friends and their mutual love for one very sexy restaurant owner.

But it’s the second book, Table for Two, I’d like to focus on in this post. And the reason is…IT RELEASES TODAY!

*happy dancing*

Table-For-Two-453x680

So, what’s this book about?

I think the blurb explains it best:

TABLE FOR TWO – The Blurb

Sunday Night Dinner Club, Book 2

James Elliot never meant to barge into his friend’s bedroom, but now that he’s caught an eyeful of Olivia Taylor, butt-naked, he can’t seem to imagine her any other way.

Liv’s world is falling apart. The goals she’s worked so hard to achieve are crumbling. The only thing she can rely on now is the constant stability her friends provide.

But one of those friends is changing the dynamics of their relationship. James is whipping away everything that’s familiar between them and replacing it with a sensuality and a passion Liv can’t ignore.

With so much at stake, Liv has no time to fall in love—even if it’s with her best friend. It’s up to James to guide her through the toughest challenge of her life and show her that the light on the other side of the tunnel just might burn between them forever.

Warning: Contains all the red-hot loving you’d expect from a Jess Dee romance, and a sexy, sports-mad, muscle-bound alpha hero with a penchant for tossing his heroine over his shoulder.

Slide1

BTW – this postcard is slightly different from the one posted over at International Heat.

Table for Two can be enjoyed as a stand alone book, or read as part of the series.

The choice is yours.

KISSES SWEETER THAN WINE

One sip of passion leaves them thirsty for more…

Tastes of Seduction, Book 3

Declan Muirfield never planned to return to the hotel where he broke a woman’s heart and destroyed his prospects for a happy ever after. Until he finds himself strapped in Noah Martin’s passenger seat, being driven—against his better judgment—back to the scene of his crime.

Noah’s spent too many years watching while Declan’s lived the life he’s expected to lead rather than following his heart and living the life he wants. Now Noah’s had enough. It’s time for Declan to confront his past so he can embrace his future—with Noah, as it was meant to be.

And if that future should include a beguiling woman with honey-gold hair, all the better. Under the guise of a working weekend, Noah has invited Violet Harper to join them at the luxury vineyard hotel. Perhaps now the unspoken connection between Violet, Declan and himself can finally develop into something tangible.

Almost immediately, sparks flare out of control, and clothes come flying off in a hot whirlwind of desire. But convincing Declan and Violet that the three of them belong together may prove to be the hardest task Noah has ever undertaken.

Warning: A bottle of white? A bottle of red? Perhaps a bottle of bubbly instead?

Ah, hell, just bring ’em all. We all know good things come in threes.

A LITTLE TEASER:

She had a faraway look on her face, as though she’d tuned out of the whole conversation.

“Vi?” he prompted.

“Hmmm?”

“Penny for your thoughts?”

“I was just wondering…”

“About?”

“About how it feels?”

“How what feels?”

“A blowjob—from a man.”

Noah snorted in surprise.

And Violet slapped a hand over her mouth. “Oh, geez. Tell me I didn’t say that out loud. Tell me. Please?”

“You most certainly did.”

“God, I’m so sorry. I can’t believe I did it again. Just blurted out exactly what I was thinking.” She shoved her glass at Declan. “You’re right. I am drunk. I’ve had altogether too much wine. Take it away. Hide it from me. Somewhere I’ll never find the glass or the bottle.”

Declan just glanced at the wine.

Violet placed her elbows on the table and dropped her head in her hands, hiding her face. “I’m going to sit quietly and pretend I’m not here. You pretend too. Both of you. Just until the buzz wears off. Then I’ll be fine. Promise. No more inappropriate questions.”

Noah leaned across the table. “It feels good, baby,” he whispered. “So damn good.”

Violet froze.

A Little Spark

If you’ve been living under a rock you might not know that I had a release day yesterday. Otherwise I’m sure you’ve seen me going on an on about it on social media, because Rob McConnell’s book is available for purchase and I’m thrilled. I fell in love with Rob while writing Burning Up for the Down and Dirty boxed set, and I’m so glad to see his story finally on sale. Rob is a seriously nice guy, but hella sexy too. I DO believe nice guys can be sexy–don’t you?

Resisting a gorgeous firefighter bent on seduction could prove the ultimate challenge.

Firefighter Rob McConnell doesn’t believe in love at first sight, until he meets Sierra Lawson and his common sense goes up in flames. The woman sets his heart alight the instant he meets her, and he could swear the feeling is mutual. But Sierra has one rule that makes a relationship between them unworkable—she doesn’t date firefighters. Still, Rob thinks the spark between them deserves a chance to grow and he’ll use every seductive talent he has to convince Sierra to take a chance on love.

Sierra doesn’t believe in taking chances. Her late fiancé took them on the job as a cop and wound up dead. Knowing she can’t go through that kind of heartache again, Sierra vows never to date another man in a dangerous profession. But when hunky firefighter Rob bursts into her life, her list of rules looks set to burn up like dry kindling. The man is temptation personified. An affair seems inevitable.

Guarding her heart? Impossible.

Excerpt

Two things woke Rob McConnell at 3:46 in the morning. The sound of a woman screaming and the acrid smell of smoke.

He shot out of bed, his firefighter instincts on full alert. Yesterday, he’d spent the better part of a ten-hour shift working with his crew and several others to dampen a factory fire before it spread to the surrounding industrial area. They’d managed to douse the flames without any loss of life, but they weren’t always so lucky. Screaming and smoke tended to make Rob spring right into action.

He was yanking on a pair of jeans in two seconds, bolting out of his bedroom in three. He stopped in the darkened hall, listening for the roar of flames. It took him a moment to realize there was no roar, and that the woman’s screams weren’t the come-and-save-me-I’m-burning-to-death kind. They were more of the Oh-God-baby-yes-I’m coming-I’m-coming variety.

Rob groaned and rubbed at his eyes with the heels of his hands. His housemates were at it again. Blair Bowman and Leo Chatfield—otherwise known at the fire station as Blue and Chats—were working their way through all the women in Ashton Heights and a few surrounding suburbs who were willing to take both of them on at the same time. Unfortunately, there were a lot of women to choose from.

Ordinarily, Rob wouldn’t care what his two workmates did in the bedroom. He wasn’t a complete stranger to the delights of three-way action himself. But the walls in the old Queenslander the three of them shared were paper thin. The noise was affecting his sleep.

Pushing out a sigh, Rob walked into the kitchen to grab the milk from the fridge. Just as he was about to lift the carton to his lips, he detected that scent of smoke again. The screams might have been nothing to worry about, but that persistent smell was a concern. He followed it to the open kitchen window, which faced the kitchen window of the neighboring house. Through the glass, he saw a telltale orange glow emanating from inside.

“Shit!”

Rob dropped the milk carton, spilling the contents all over the linoleum floor. Ignoring the mess, he yanked the fire extinguisher off its wall bracket and bolted toward the sliding glass door that led to the back patio. He ran down the stairs three at a time, vaulted over the fence between the two properties and leapt up the back stairs of number nineteen. He banged on the glass of the house’s back door, trying to rouse the single mother and three kids who lived inside.

Through the glass, Rob could see the fire had already consumed the toaster on the bench. As he watched and banged furiously on the door, the flames leapt from the toaster to a nearby tea towel and set it alight.

Where the hell were their smoke alarms? Fuck it, he thought. He couldn’t wait for Cheryl to wake up. He lifted the fire extinguisher and rammed the base of it into the door. A crack appeared in the glass immediately. With only one more blow, the whole sheet exploded. Glass fell everywhere, leaving shards on the inside and outside of the house.

A woman screamed, the sound ear-splitting. Rob didn’t even look at her as he leapt over the broken glass and headed for the kitchen. He lifted the fire extinguisher and released the safety switch. Rob gave it a few good long bursts, spraying at the flames until he’d buried the small blaze in white foam.

When the noise of the extinguisher died down, silence fell. Outside, a dog barked. A few screen doors creaked as they opened. The commotion had obviously gotten the attention of the neighbors. Rob’s heart rate began to calm as the adrenaline eased out of his system.

It sped up again at the sound of one shrill question. “Why in the world did you do that?”

Rob’s head whipped around and he got his first real look at the woman who’d screamed earlier. A woman who was definitely not Cheryl, the forty-something mother of three who lived at number nineteen. This woman was not forty, probably wouldn’t be for at least fifteen years. And if her hips had born any children, they sure didn’t show a sign of it. She was trim and slender with long hair that fell in straight dark strands all the way to her tiny waist. Which wasn’t far because she was short.

She was short, cute and really ticked off. Which ticked Rob off. Fortunately, his annoyance distracted him from the other things he was feeling. His first glimpse of the woman had knocked the breath from him and he felt like he’d been sucker punched.
Sigh. I love him!

I hope you check out Giving Off Sparks.

Rocking print releases

The print release from the Divas this month rock. In more ways than one.

First off, they are 50% off at Samhain. THAT IS A MASSIVE SAVING!

And secondly, they’re both about rock stars!

1) Rhythm of my Heart: Jess Dee

Description
He rocks every woman’s world, but his heart beats only for her.Speed, Book 3Makeup artist Eve Andrews is an expert at blending into the background. Landing a job with the rock band Speed is the opportunity of a lifetime, and thankfully as close to the spotlight as she’ll ever get again—until the band’s sinfully sexy drummer turns his dazzling eyes on her.

After a scandal shook his world, Zachary Pace, a.k.a. “Jonah Speed”, has given up the one-night stands and easy lays. One look at Eve, and he senses his self-imposed abstinence is about to come to a screeching halt—but he’s confused. His grandmother foretold his destiny lies with a beautiful redhead, not a tiny, brown-haired pixie.

Under the heat of Zachary’s intense focus, Eve’s resistance melts away, but not the façade that hides her terrible secret. And when she accidentally catches a glimpse of his heart’s desire—his fated redhead—her instincts tell her to let him go…before he gets too close. Before he sees the real woman behind her mask, and her heart is left in the dust of his almost-certain retreat.

Product Warnings

This is a Speed book, so you know there’s gonna be a small element of fantasy to it. And a big element of romance. Oh, yeah, and a whole lot of sex. Sex hot enough to make you throb to the rhythm of a very sensual beat…

Rhythm of my Heart is available now from Samhain for only $6.30. (That is ridiculously cheap for a print book!!!)

2) Steady Beat by Lexxie Couper

Description
He never missed a beat…until she taught him a whole new rhythm.Heart of Fame, Book 4Back when he was playing drums for rock star Nick Blackthorne, it was easy for Noah Holden to focus on the sticks in his hand. Now that the band is getting back together, he’s excited—and worried. His ADHD has made every minute of his post-Blackthorne life a chaotic mess.

His apprehension is blown away when a bar waitress makes him a proposition—and not the kind this king of drums is used to.

When Pepper Kerrigan overhears the band talking reunion, she pushes her self-doubt aside, calls on her encyclopedic music knowledge and challenges Noah Holden to a trivia contest. Her prize should she win? An audition. His? A kiss. Their smoking sexual chemistry guarantees victory—for them both.

With Pepper, Noah is finally able to control his stormy creative energy. But when his wild past catches up with him, he faces the fight of his life to keep from losing his smoky-voiced angel. The one woman who keeps his mind—and his heart—staying on rhythm.

Product Warnings

There’s a thrumming primitive sexual energy in every rock drummer’s body just waiting to be released.

Steady Beat is also available from Samhain for the ridiculous price of only $6.30.

Happy reading,

When I Experienced My Very First Menage…

I can’t lie. I was nervous. Big time nervous. Two men? All those hands? What if things didn’t fit? What if limbs got tangled? What if I did it wrong??

But, after months of pestering and pestering I finally said yes. Okay, I’d do it. I’d write a menage.

Hee hee hee.

My editor, Heidi Moore, had been asking me to write one for quite a while, but up until that point I was mainly a paranormal/sci-fi writer with only two people involved in the actual sex part. But Heidi dared me and I’m afraid I’ve yet to turn down a dare. So I opened my laptop and wrote the first thing that came to my head…

Joseph Hudson tossed his snowboard aside, threw his goggles over his shoulder and swung a fist at his best mate.

In that very moment, I knew who my two lucky heroes were going to be: Joseph Hudson and Rob Thorton. Two sexy, Aussie businessmen; one who is all work and no play and one who lives life on the edge. Once I knew who they were, their heroine, the woman who sweeps them both off their feet, instantly made herself known to me:

Jenny McCarthy lowered her binoculars and shook her head. Australians. What were they thinking?

So for my very first m/f/m erotic romance, I’d put two Aussie best friends and an American ranger in a snowed-in cabin high in the Rocky Mountains. Three people who were going to spend quite a bit of time naked, in sub-zero tempatures. How the hell was I goig to keep them warm?

This way…

“How bout we help you with your clothing?”

Rob’s murmur tickled her ear and she started, more than a little stunned to discover he’d somehow moved to stand behind her without her even noticing.

Too busy staring at Joseph?

Warm hands smoothed up her back, over her shoulders. His fingers slid up the sensitive column of her neck, brushing at her nape before skimming back down to the neckline of her jacket. There was a slight tug and before she knew it, her jacket slipped from her body, falling to her feet in a crumpled heap of fluro-magenta.

She watched Joseph watching her, his nostrils flaring again, the muscles in his jaw bunched.

I want him to kiss me.

Rob’s hands travelled her shoulders, barely touching her. The slight caress of his palms on her arms through the thin material of her thermal sent a shiver up her spine and she pulled in a shaky breath, her nipples once again hard. Oh, God.

“C’mon, Joe,” Rob spoke against her neck, his lips warm on her flushed skin. “Don’t make me say it.”

Say what, Jenny wanted to ask, but she couldn’t. The way Rob’s hands moved over her shoulders, her arms, down to her palms and back up to her shoulders again seemed to have stolen her words, a gentle caress that somehow still spoke of urgency.

Joseph swallowed, once, twice, his Adams apple working up and down his throat. And then he was standing right in front of her, so close she could feel his body heat seep into her. “You don’t have to, mate,” he said, holding her gaze with his honey-brown eyes. “Not at all.”

He lowered his head, brushing his lips over hers in a kiss that sang of such sweet hesitation her heart stopped for a still moment. Only to burst into fevered flight when he snaked his arms around her waist and yanked her against his body with a growl, his mouth crushing hers.

His tongue plunged past her lips, mating with hers. Battling it with possessive hunger.

So, there is an Australian battle after all. And I’m a part of it.

The surreal, absurd thought wafted through Jenny’s head and she whimpered, curling her arms around Joseph’s neck to press her hips to his. His cock rammed against the flat plane of her belly, a rigid stiff pole not even remotely hidden by the bulk of his snow pants. Its size and width made her head swim, or perhaps that was the feel of Rob’s hands working their way down her waist to the band of own trousers.

“You have a fucking hot body,” he told her, his fingers working their way between her and Joseph until they dipped below the elastic band of her pants. “I saw it last night in the bar. Its lush curves and firm strength revealed by the tight jeans you wore.” He slipped his fingers closer to the mound of her sex, his other hand holding her hip as he pressed his groin to her ass. “The tighter t-shirt.”

Rob pushed his hips forward, his erection—as long and as impressive as Joseph’s—nudging the crevice of her ass cheeks through her snow pants. “Still,” he whispered against her ear, lips nipping her earlobe as he did so, “I think I’d like to see more of it.”

With a gentle but insistent tug, he pulled her back to his hips, his fingers moving to her waistband. Inching it down over her hips. Her thighs. “Oh, yes. I knew you would look like this.”

Joseph broke the kiss, stepping away from her a step to stare at what his friend had revealed. “Jesus Christ,” he said, the words choked. “So did I.”

And this way…

Errr….this bit’s kinda naughty. Just a warning 😉

“I wanted you the second I saw you,” he said, pushing his hips forward into Jenny’s teasing fingers.

“The feeling’s entirely mutual.”

Her whispered confession stabbed into him. At the exact moment she stopped teasing his dick and took his erection in her hand. Raw pleasure washed through his whole body. He shuddered, his balls swelling, his sphincter contracting.

“Fuck a duck, Jenny,” he ground out. “If you squeeze that too hard, I’m going to come.”

She grinned at him, the sides of her mouth curling. “Do you have something else planned?”

He grinned back. “Yes, actually.”

Without preamble, he snared the hemline of her thermal shirt and yanked it up over her head.

“Oh, Hudo,” Rob laughed behind him, “I knew you’d be good at this.”

He let his gaze roam over Jenny’s newly exposed torso, both infuriated and aroused by the silky sheen of her black bra concealing her breasts. He reached out his hand and traced one fingertip along the ribbon-edged cup of her left breast. “I’ve always been one to rise to the challenge.”

Jenny moaned slightly, her skin rippling at the barely-touching contact of his finger. She stared up at him through half-lidded eyes, her hands resting in loose fists beside her head.

“That you have been, my friend,” Rob agreed. “And one for making bad puns. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a sweet, hot, tight and very wet pussy to eat.”

Joseph’s ass tightened again on Rob’s dirty proclamation. He hooked his fingers under the edge of Jenny’s bra, holding her gaze with his. “Bon appétit.”

He saw Rob move from the corner of his eye, knowing by Jenny’s sudden intake of breath exactly when his friend’s tongue touched her folds. “Oh.” The single word fell from her on a shaky breath and she arched her back, her knees bending as she placed her feet on Rob’s shoulders. “Yes.”

Joseph swallowed, his heart thumping. Hot lust surged through him and he tugged on the edge of her bra, working the soft cup to the side. Pulling it from her breast until her nipple popped free.

It was perfect. A beautiful dusky pink, round and pebbled and just waiting to be sucked. By him.

He lowered his head, taking the puckered tip in his mouth.

I wrote Triple Dare in 10 days. Once I started, I discovered I just couldn’t stop. Didn’t want to stop. Oh man, was it fun. I was having fun. Writing a menage was FUN! And wicked. And delicious. And naughty. And oh so very sexy.

More came after. Blowing it Off, Tropical Sin, Sunset Heat and Compliance (in the Down and Dirty box set). And all were just as fun to write. Just as sexy. But Triple Dare will, I think, always be my favourite. Your first usually is, right?

What was your first m/f/m menage? Come on, share 🙂

Oh by the way, Sami, Jess and Rhian are sharing their first m/f/m book during the week as well.
