Award-winning Aussie author, Tracey O’Hara agreed to answer my Eight Ridiculous Questions this time. Tracey writes the most amazing urban-fantasy and I am totally in awe of her. Wait until you meet her heroine, Antoinette Petrescu. Wow, talk about a kick-arse character. Check out Tracey’s website here where you can discover more of her brilliant Dark Brethren series.
Oh, and as an added pressie (being that this is the month of Christmas, after all) Tracey is giving away an eARC of Death’s Sweet Embrace to ONE LUCKY COMMENTER. Just leave a comment here for Tracey (or over at my personal blog here) and you could be the lucky person with their very own ADVANCE EBOOK READER COPY of Tracey’s next release! Can you say, BRILLIANT!!? The lucky winner’s name will be announced on my blog Saturday morning Aussie time (which kinda equals Friday night ES US Time, I think *grin*).
1. What’s the worst thing you’ve ever eaten? Pumpkin – can’t stand the stuff ever since I was a kid – the very thought of eating it makes me want to hurl. <gag>. See…
2. What’s your favourite swear word? Shite – just loves the way it rolls of the tongue and it’s kind of like polite swearing. But if talking about a real swear word – fuck would definitely be it.
3. When were you last naked outside? I’d have to say it would be when I was 17 and was nude sunbathing, and swimming on a trip down the west coast.
4. What’s your karaoke song of choice? Queen’s “We will Rock” mainly just the chorus bit – because it’s easy to learn. I’m pretty challenged as a songstress.
5. How far is too far? I think the bottom of the deepest part of the ocean would be too far.
6. If they made a movie of your life, who would play you? Angelina Jolie – who else – because she and I are like twins J
7. You’re having an affair with a famous historical figure. Who is it and why? Ewww – they’re dead and not in a vampire way–a bit icky.
8. Favourite Muppet? I actually have 2 and can’t pick between them – Animal and Pepe the Prawn
Death’s Sweet Embrace
After thousands of years of secret conflict, humans and parahumans have reached an uneasy truce. But unspeakable evil now threatens to shatter the tenuous peace.
Teenaged shapeshifters are being slaughtered by a twisted, sadistic serial killer who rips their still-beating hearts from their paralyzed bodies. A task force must be formed to halt the madness—a union of avengers including the vampiric Aeternus, Christian Laroque and Antoinette Petrescu, as well as Kitt Jordan and Raven Matokwe, members of enemy Animalian tribes…and forbidden lovers.
A centuries-old blood feud has divided their peoples—pitting wolf against snow leopard in a battle to the death—and if their passion is discovered it will doom them both. But past hostilities must be put aside in light of the scourge that is now upon them. For the killer they seek is but the first sign of a blossoming terror rising up from their long-buried pasts: the all-consuming nightmare of The Dark Brethren.

those juice mixes are actually quite good; even though I’m nauseous from even the smell of pumpkin; and honey by the way; two things I hate more than pumpkin is honey and raisin (and I love grape)

C’mon, fess up, Miss T: who’s the dead historical dude? Dirty minds want to know…
Me, I’d date the hell out of Federico Garcia Lorca, if he liked girls. Or Mark Antony, if he wasn’t taken 🙂

hey – I really couldn’t think of any real ones – only fictional ones. Like Mr. Darcy. I did think Alexander the Great – but somehow I think I wouldn’t be his type 🙂

Hi Tracey! *waves from across the Ditch*
Love the q & a…. now that’s what I call a fun interview!
BTW, if I confess that I used to be called Pumpkin Chops as a baby, because mashed pumpkin was my fave food, will we still be friends?
BTW, Kelly, you definitely have to check out Tracey’s Night’s Cold Kiss — seriously seriously awesome!

Hello gals,
Tracey is a new to me writer as well. I think the man’s face is Nathan Kemp, am I right? And Antoinette looks like she’s about to kick some arse. I love pumpkin.
